Zung: The sacred heart of the 108 stupas

Zung, more precisely, wisdom consciousness (yeshe sempa) is the living embodiment of the Buddha’s enlightened body, speech and mind. These sacred components include thangkas, statues, precious stones, rolled mantra scrolls (dharanis) and relics of enlightened beings. Once inserted into a stupa and consecrated, these forms are awakened and rendered truly sacred, equal to the living Buddha himself.
