KuenselProject 108: Jangchub Chortens and their significance in GMC
On the first day of November 2026, a project of epic proportions will see the raising of 108 chortens (Buddhist stupas) along the banks of the Mau Chhu River in Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC). As wondrous as the feat will be, it draws on precedents and parallels in great Buddhist civilizational projects in India, Tibet and across other great Asian civilisations.
