Finance Minister proposes tax breaks until 2040 to achieve 25GW renewable energy target

The National Assembly yesterday tabled the Renewable Energy Tax Exemption Bill of Bhutan 2026, proposing time-bound and conditional tax breaks to attract investment and accelerate the development of hydropower, solar, and other renewable energy projects.
