The National Centre for Hydrology and Meteorology (NCHM) has urged government agencies, businesses and the public to remain vigilant as El Nino conditions are forecast to strengthen and peak towards the second half of the year, raising the likelihood of disruptions to agriculture, hydropower, tourism and water resources.
